RPD: Punch With The Forum-Video Combo

It’s amazing how many times a Relevant Point turns up in the last paragraph of an article about new revenue and audiences. It’s a surprise treasure. That’s because every publisher needs a growing audience to prosper, but attracting the next generation of readers usually keeps everyone up at night. Pause. Clear the mind and chew on this paragraph that ends a Jan. 18th story headlined “Publishers focus on scalability and audience growth for 2022,” by Rande Price, Research VP — Digital Content Next: “News publishers need to develop deeper relationships with audiences. In particular, they must reengage the disaffected and target the young adults. This year, innovation is an important cornerstone to attract new readers, with publishers investing in new audio formats and short-form videos. Investment is essential to build the future Web 3.0 experience.” The Relevant Point: For a winning 2022 transformation merge becoming THE Community Forum with smart use of video. It’s a powerful one-two punch.
