15th in a 2022 Series*
Email marketing is most Relevant at the beginning of the week. You can forget about the weekend. Those Relevant Points flow from Campaign Monitor’s annual benchmark report. First, let us restate the definitions of key metrics used to judge email effectiveness. Open rate: “Percentage of recipients who opened the email out of the total. ” Click-through-rate (CTR): “Simply measures how many emails resulted in a recipient clicking your call-to-action link. ” Now, examine the Relevance Scoreboard: Monday is the best day for opens. Tuesday has the highest click-through rate. In both measures, Saturday and Sunday posted the lowest rates. The smart play: Take your best marketing shots on Monday and Tuesday. Use the rest of the week to research and plan. Take off Saturday and Sunday. Recharge. (Note: Special thanks to Campaign Monitor, as well as stories in MediaPost and Deliva — Email Marketing Solutions.)
